In a major turn of events, Ravindra Jadeja has handed over the CSK captaincy back to MS Dhoni. The Chennai Super Kings have confirmed that the all-rounder has relinquished the captaincy duties midway through the season to hand over the captaincy back to the former skipper.

For those who don’t know, the four-time champions appointed their star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja the new skipper of the franchise. Their legendary skipper MS Dhoni had resigned from the leadership duties ahead of the IPL 2022 to smoothen up the transition process.

However, the move didn’t work as per the plan for the defending champions. Chennai Super Kings have already been crashed out of the playoffs race after playing only eight league games.

Jadeja has only scored 122 runs and picked up 5 wickets in eight matches this season. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has looked in decent touch and he has amassed 132 runs in 8 games this season.

While the season is already gone, Chennai Super Kings will look to win the remaining game to spoil the party of the others. Also, Ravindra Jadeja will try to get back to the groove with the bat and the ball after handing over the captaincy duties to MS Dhoni.
