IPL 2022: Parthiv Patel wants CSK to play Rajvardhan Hangargekar against Rajasthan Royals
Former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel has advised MS Dhoni and CSK to play the youngster Rajvardhan Hangargekar in the last league game. On Friday evening, Chennai Super Kings will be concluding their IPL 2022 campaign as they face Rajasthan Royals at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
Rajasthan Royals have already qualified for the playoffs but they will be eyeing a top-two spot with a win to play Qualifier 1. Meanwhile, the defending champions crashed out of the competition early and they will try to sign off the season on a high with a victory.
In the last few games, CSK are trying their bench strength by giving all players a chance to shine, keeping the future in mind. However, they are yet to play the U-19 star Rajvardhan Hangargekar this season.
For the unversed, the Super Kings signed the youngster after an impressive U19 World Cup for a sum of INR 1.5 crores at the mega auction. Now, the former CSK player Parthiv Patel wants MS Dhoni to play the youngster in their last game to give him a taste of the Indian Premier League.
“Hopefully, MS Dhoni plays Rajvardhan Hangargekar in the last game” – Parthiv Patel
“CSK will try everything to win this last match. They might try some new combinations. That will be something unpredictable. I wish to see Rajvardhan Hangargekar come in for Prashanth Solanki. I have been saying this from the first day. Hopefully, Dhoni plays him in the last game. I was disappointed with Fleming’s statement regarding him. This is an ideal opportunity for the youngster if he is fit” said Parthiv Patel while speaking on Cricbuzz.
Meanwhile, the Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming told the media earlier that they do not want to expose the young all-rounder in the pressure tournament too early. He also added that Rajvardhan Hangargekar is learning and heading in the right direction.
