IND vs ENG 2024: Team India’s predicted XI for 4th Test against England
All-Rounders: Ravi Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja
Ravi Ashwin became the ninth bowler to take 500 Test wickets in cricket history. He had to leave the third match midway to attend his mother, who was rushed to hospital due to a medical emergency.
However, the spinner joined back the side on the fourth day but didn’t have much work to do. Ravindra Jadeja, on the other side, was adjudged the player of the match in the last contest.
He scored a century after coming to bat under pressure. Apart from that, he also picked up seven wickets in the match, including a five-wicket haul in the second innings to help his side win the game.
Bowlers: Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar
Kuldeep Yadav is likely to retain his position ahead of Axar Patel. He was impressive with both the bat and the ball. He added variety to the spin department and stood up when the team needed him in the absence of Ravi Ashwin.
Mohammed Siraj finally returned to his form as he picked up four wickets in the first innings. His fiery spell was crucial for the Men in Blue’s comeback. In the absence of Bumrah, he will lead the pace battery for the team.
Mukesh Kumar is the front-runner to replace Bumrah in the XI. He was released from the squad to participate in the Ranji Trophy. Playing for Bengal against Bihar, he picked up a 10-wicket haul.
