The pacer was supposed to rest for the third match but the think tank decided to play him to get the desired lead. It is important to manage the 30-year-old pacer’s workload owing to his injury-prone body.

1) Mukesh Kumar

The Indian management has been pushing Mukesh Kumar across all the formats in recent months. The management considers him as a potential performer for the national side.

However, he hasn’t been impressive in his short Test career so far. The absence of Mohammed Shami in the squad will allow Mukesh to get another chance to revive his red-ball career.
