Riyan Parag must be the one most dejected after not finding his name in India’s squad sheet. He has been in terrific form in the domestic circuit this year and must have dreamt of getting the maiden call-up.

In the SMAT 2023, Parag smashed 510 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 183, including seven fifties. Apart from that, he also took 11 wickets to script a historic campaign for Assam.

Parag could’ve been a good pick as he can contribute to all three departments. However, the selectors have persisted with the likes of Washington Sundar and Axar Patel for the highly demanding role.
