Australian opener Chris Lynn has backed the Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik to board a flight for Australia for the T20I World Cup later this year. As per the destructive opener, extra pace and bounce on the Australian pitches will suit Umran’s bowling style.

Umran Malik has become the talk of the town after consistent performances in the IPL 2022. The pacer has earned a name for himself with his rocket pace and ability to clinch wickets during the middle phase of the game. Umran Malik also registered his first five-for against Gujarat Titans with a fiery spell.

“He’s going to take the world by the storm” – Chris Lynn on Umran Malik

The destructive Aussie opener is impressed with the young Indian sensation Malik. He was talking to ESPNCricinfo’s T20 Time Out show when he talked about prospects of Umran Malik playing the T20 World Cup in Australia.

“From the outside looking in, definitely. I will factor the wickets are bouncy here in Australia and you need I suppose that youth and just that guys haven’t played against it. You keep going back to whom you drop because it is such a formidable (bowling) line-up, but would love to see this guy in the World Cup. He’s going to take the world by the storm if he does get a chance at the international level. It is lucky that I am not a selector for India,” said Chris Lynn.

Lynn also looked impressed with Umran Malik’s control over line and length with his pace.

“The fact that he’s learning quickly as well is probably (what) impressed me more than anything. He has always got that raw pace, but it is all about that cricket IQ now which is developing every game and he is very, very impressive,” concluded Chris Lynn.
