Glenn Maxwell hits the ball so hard; breaks a seat in the stands at Westpac Stadium
Australia’s star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell hogged the limelight in the IPL 2021 auction when he was purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping INR 14.25 crore. Ahead of the IPL 2021 auction, he was released by Punjab Kings. Prior to the action, Maxwell made his stance clear that he would love to play for RCB.
The all-rounder’s dream came true as he eventually landed up in his favourite franchise. He will be looking forward to working with the likes of AB de Villiers and captain Virat Kohli.
RCB is one of the three teams that are yet to win a title in the tournament. However, Maxwell will bring his attacking dimensions to bolster the batting attack only to help his team make a bid for the title this time around.
The 32-year-old Australian cricketer is currently in New Zealand plying his trade in the ongoing T20I series. The first two matches have been done and dusted. The hosts won the series opener by 53 runs and they continued to dominate the Aussies in the second match as well. The Kiwis won the second match by 4 runs.

Maxwell who had a disappointing day at the office in the first two games turned up the ante in the third T20I. In a must-win encounter at Westpac Stadium, Wellington, Maxwell set the stage on fire with his blistering knock. The all-rounder went on to hit 31-ball-70 with the help of 8 boundaries and 5 sixes to his name.
During his innings, the all-rounder smashed a sensational six over the square leg region. In the process, he broke a seat in the stands. The incident took place during the 17th over of Australia’s batting bowled by New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham. Initially, Maxwell smashed a four in the backward point region in the first ball.
In the next ball, he thumped a length delivery for a six. He hit the ball so hard that it broke a seat in the stands at the Stadium. The video is doing the rounds on the internet. RCB fans enjoyed watching him bat and will expect him to deliver the same in the next IPL. Meanwhile, Australia won the game by 64 runs to stay alive in the series.
