Shikhar Dhawan and his attempts to play audacious slog sweeps against off-spinners are turning into a never-ending and confusing saga for the team management and fans alike. In the game between Royal Challengers and Punjab Kings, the left-handed southpaw once again threw his wicket after a decent while playing a slog-sweep off Glenn Maxwell.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are locking horns with Punjab Kings in the 60th match of the IPL 2022 on Friday evening. It is a must-win game for the Mohali-based franchise as another loss will see them crash out of the playoffs race. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore are looking to challenge for the top two spots in the league standings with a win.

RCB’s captain Faf du Plessis asked Mayank Agarwal & co. to bat first after winning the toss. The Kings from Punjab were off to a flyer courtesy of a brilliant opening assault from the English batter Jonny Bairstow. Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan kept one end intact with a sensible shot selection.

The opening duo of Dhawan and Bairstow added 60 runs inside the first five overs to provide Punjab Kings with a solid start. However, Shikhar Dhawan soon tried to play a slog sweep to see his stumps in a mess.
