On Friday night, Royal Challengers Bangalore are up against Punjab Kings in the 60th match of the IPL 2022 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. It is a must-win game for Punjab Kings to stay alive in the competition, while RCB are trying to get closer to the playoffs with a vital victory.

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s skipper Faf du Plessis invited Anil Kumble’s men to bat first after winning the toss. However, the move didn’t work as Punjab Kings’ openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow, came out with aggressive intent. The Englishman, in particular, took RCB’s bowlers to the cleaners and smashed them all around the park.

However, Royal Challengers managed to mount a mini-comeback post powerplay by scalping two quick wickets. The spinners took the charge in the middle overs as Wanindu Hasaranga outfoxed his Sri Lankan teammate Bhanuka Rajapaksa. Meanwhile, left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed earned the massive wicket of Jonny Bairstow.

Jonny played a brilliant knock of 66 runs of 29 deliveries, including four boundaries and seven maximums. At the time of the writing, Mayank Agarwal and Liam Livingstone are trying to resurrect the innings as Punjab Kings are 108/3 in 11 overs.

Meanwhile, fans could not stop themselves from praising Jonny Bairstow for a vital knock in a must-win game and took Twitter to express their views.
