Deepak Hooda leaves Baroda; Irfan Pathan expresses disappointment

In what comes as a huge loss to the Baroda cricket team, cricketer Deepak Hooda has left the team. The all-rounder has left the state team ahead of the domestic season. Former cricketer Irfan Pathan was utterly disappointed following Deepak’s departure.

Meanwhile, fans have hit out at Baroda cricketer Krunal Pandya for Deepak’s decision to quit the team. Deepak is looking forward to starting a new journey with Rajasthan in domestic cricket. He will represent the Rajasthan cricket team soon.

Earlier, the all-rounder had asked for a no-objection certificate from Baroda Cricket Association. BCA chief executive officer Shishir Hattangadi said NOC will be given to Deepak Hooda.

“Baroda player Deepak Hooda has asked NOC from the board and he will be given so,” BCA chief executive officer Shishir Hattangadi told ANI. Many feel that Deepak’s exclusion is a big loss for the Baroda cricket board. The cricketer could have easily become one of the greats had he stayed in the team for another 10 years.

Irfan Pathan disappointed as Deepak Hooda quits Baroda

Meanwhile, former Baroda cricketer Irfan Pathan expressed his disappointment following Deepak Hooda’s exit. The former Indian cricketer took to Twitter and expressed his opinion. His tweet went viral on social media.

“How many cricket association will loose out on a player who is in the Indian team probables list? Deepak Hooda leaving baroda cricket is a huge loss. He could have easily given his services for another ten years as he is still young. As a Barodian It’s utterly disappointing!” Pathan tweeted.

Some months ago, there was a major quarrel between Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya. Deepak openly told that Krunal abused him right in front of his teammates. Since then, tensions flared up and Deepak made up his mind to leave the team.

In late January, he left the team hotel just hours ahead of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He had also informed the media that captain Krunal Pandya misbehaved with him. All-rounder recently turned up in IPL 2021 to play for Punjab Kings.
