CSK to part ways with Ravindra Jadeja after the IPL 2022? The CEO delivers a massive update
The controversy surrounding CSK and their star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is taking new twists and turns every day. On Wednesday, the left-handed southpaw was ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2022 season with an injury. Consequently, Chennai Super Kings released him and Jadeja headed back to his home.
Moreover, social media went into a frenzy with the rift rumours between Ravindra Jadeja and the Chennai-based franchise after CSK’s official Instagram account unfollowed their loyal servant.
The four-time champions have endured a difficult time during the current season. They are on the verge of getting eliminated from the competition as they sit 9th in the points table with four wins and seven losses after eleven games. Another loss in the remaining four games will confirm their exit from the competition while winning all four games doesn’t guarantee a spot in the playoffs.
The defending champions kick-started the new season by appointing Ravindra Jadeja the new skipper of the Yellow Army. But the move failed to yield results for the defending champions with a string of losses. Jaddu also lost his form with the bat and the ball as the allrounder only managed 116 runs and 5 wickets in 10 matches. Subsequently, Ravi Jadeja handed over the captaincy back to MS Dhoni amid the increasing pressure.
CSK’s CEO addressed the rift rumours with Ravindra Jadeja
With the rumours of the rift between Ravindra Jadeja and the Super Kings growing, the franchise’s CEO Kasi Viswanathan has issued a clarification on the matter.
“Social media, I absolutely do not follow anything. I have no knowledge of what is going on there. What I can tell you is that from the management side, there has been no problem and whatever is there on social media, I’m not aware. Jadeja firmly remains in the CSK’s scheme of things for the future, always,” Kasi Viswanathan told The Indian Express.
“Jaddu had an injury during the game against RCB and after that he didn’t play the game against Delhi Capitals. On medical advice, it has been decided that he cannot participate further in this IPL and he is heading back home. He has been released,” he concluded.
