CPL 2021: Chris Gayle cracks glass with a mighty six off Jason Holder’s bowling

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots had a terrible season in the previous edition. They finished at the bottom of the points table as they managed to garner just one win in the entire season. However, they equipped themselves by signing two key players – Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots locked horns with Barbados Royals in the second fixture of the CPL. Dwayne Bravo-led Patriots got off to a winning start as they beat the Royals by 21 runs. Sherfane Rutherford was the pick of the batsmen for the Patriots as he scored 53 off 43 balls with the help of 2 fours and 4 sixes.

Dwayne Bravo also played his part by scoring 47 off 35 balls including 1 four and 4 maximums. Oshane Thomas bowled really well for The Royals as he took 3 wickets. Meanwhile, there was one particular incident that caught everyone’s attention.

Chris Gayle thumped a scintillating six off Jason Holder’s bowling. The veteran cricketer comfortably tonk Holder’s delivery straight towards the sightscreen. As it happened, Gayle’s powerful shot went on to shatter the glass. The video clip of the same went viral on social media channels.

However, Gayle didn’t capitalize on the start as he fell prey to Oshane Thomas’ bowling after scoring 12 off 9 balls. The Patriots posted 175/5 in 20 overs and restricted the opposition to 154/7. Sheldon Cottrell and Dominic Drakes took 2 wickets each for the Patriots.
