The high-profile Ashes 2021 series is all set to commence on December 8 at the Gabba. The five-match blockbuster between Australia and England will be a part of the second cycle of the ICC World Test Championship.

The England side led by Joe Root will look to start the tour on a winning note and will be brimming with confidence with the return of ace all-rounder Ben Stokes. He has not played competitive cricket since July and will hope to hit the strides from the word go. However, the visitors will miss the service of James Anderson, who will skip the first Test due to workload management.

On the other hand, Australia will take the field under their new captain Pat Cummins, who took over the baton after Tim Paine stepped down after an off-field scandal. The Aussies have already named their playing XI with Travis Head getting a nod ahead of in-form Usman Khawaja.
