5 players Sunrisers Hyderabad can release ahead of IPL 2023
SRH, who are known for their sheer consistency, had a disappointing campaign last season.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had a strange run in the last edition of the Indian Premier League. After losing their first two games back-to-back, Sunrisers Hyderabad roared back into form with five consecutive victories. However, just when were sailing to the playoffs, things went downhill for the Hyderabad-based franchise.
The Orange Army lost their next five matches to crash out of the tournament and in the end finished in eighth position with six wins and eight losses in their 14 games. The team has now failed to qualify for the playoffs for two consecutive seasons. The franchise has already made a lot of changes to the team’s coaching staff and might be looking to make changes to the squad ahead of next season.
Hence, in this post, we will take a look at the 5 players Sunrisers Hyderabad can release ahead of IPL 2023.
5. Kartik Tyagi
The youngster grabbed a lot of headlines with his emphatic display of pace bowling during the U19 World Cup 2020. The right-handed pacer picked up 11 wickets in 6 matches to impress many franchises. Subsequently, the Rajasthan Royals picked the youngster in the IPL and he picked 9 wickets in 10 matches for the Royals.
Sunrisers Hyderabad shelled out a massive sum of INR 4 crore to sign the young pacer ahead of the IPL 2022 but Kartik Tyagi didn’t get many opportunities for the Orange Army. The 21-year-old played two matches for SRH in the IPL 2022 and he could pick up only one wicket at an economy rate of 9.87.
With the presence of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, and T Natarajan in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling unit, Kartik Tyagi is likely to warm the bench once again. Hence, the team management could release the young pacer to use the funds elsewhere.
