5 players Sunrisers Hyderabad can release ahead of IPL 2023
SRH, who are known for their sheer consistency, had a disappointing campaign last season.
1. Kane Williamson
After parting ways with David Warner, Sunrisers Hyderabad put their faith in Kane Williamson to take their team forward. The Orange Army retained the Kiwi skipper for a massive sum of INR 14 crore ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022.
However, Kane Williamson failed to inspire the team and had a mediocre season with the bat. The classy batter could only score 216 runs in 13 matches at an average of 19.83. Furthermore, the Kiwi had an alarming strike rate of just 93.50. Kane hasn’t been in the best of form in the last year for New Zealand either.
However, Sunrisers Hyderabad still need a skipper to lead them. Hence, a move to release Kane Williamson ahead of the IPL 2023 to buy him back for a cheaper price makes a lot of sense for the Hyderabad-based team. Meanwhile, given the amount associated with the Kiwi skipper, it won’t be a surprise if they release him and don’t even buy him back.
