The new entrants Gujarat Titans (GT) stunned everyone by winning the IPL championship at their very first attempt. The Titans roped in star all-rounder Hardik Pandya ahead of the auction and made him the skipper of the franchise. Furthermore, they also signed Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill to build a team around them.

However, when the Gujarat Titans left the auction table, not many gave them a chance in front of a star-studded squad. On paper, the Titans had the best bowling unit in the league but their batting resources were limited. However, the Ahemdabad-based franchise managed to perform as a unit and in the end, emerged as champions.

The Titans will enter the new season as the defending champions and will look to add solidity to their squad. To bring in new additions, they have to release a few players first. Hence, in this post, we will take a look at the 5 players Gujarat Titans can release ahead of IPL 2023.

5. Gurkeerat Singh Mann

The veteran player from Punjab had a fantastic outing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22, where he scored 156 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 127.86. The Titans from Gujarat roped in the experienced batter for INR 50 lakh to bolster their batting unit.

However, the right-handed batter kept warming the bench for the entire season and didn’t feature in any games for the eventual champions. The team management preferred Abhinav Manohar and Sai Sudharsan in the middle order over the Punjab-born batter.

Subsequently, Sai Sudharsan nailed down his spot in the playing XI and it is highly unlikely that Gurkeerat Singh Mann will get any game-time in the upcoming season either. Therefore, Gujarat Titans are expected to release 32-year-old ahead of the auction for IPL 2023.
