5 players Gujarat Titans (GT) can release ahead of IPL 2023

After Matthew Wade’s semifinal-winning heroics against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021, Gujarat Titans signed the Australian wicketkeeper for INR 2.4 crore. The left-handed southpaw came into the IPL with form behind his back.

However, the wicketkeeper-batter failed to get off the blocks despite getting a long rope from the team management. Wade could only score 157 runs in 10 matches at a disappointing strike rate of 113.76. Subsequently, he was dropped from the team and the team management tried Wriddhiman Saha at the top.

The move worked wonders for the Gujarat Giants as the veteran wicketkeeper from Bengal made a formidable opening pair along with Shubman Gill. Gujarat Giants also have Rahmanhullah Gurbaz in their ranks, and hence, the defending champions could release Matthew Wade ahead of IPL 2023.
