The Indian Premier League (IPL) has successfully completed as many as 14 seasons since the inaugural edition. The first edition graced the spot back in IPL 2008 season and the rest is history. Following the remarkable success of the IPL, several other T20 franchise cricket leagues started to take the center stage.

Today, there are several T20 franchise cricket leagues across the world. However, there is no hiding from the fact that IPL is the most-watched and decorated T20 tournament in the world. Tamil Nadu cricketer Shahrukh Khan enrolled himself at the mega auction for his base price of Rs 40 lakh. The right-handed batsman who is known for his batting exploits triggered a bidding war at the auction in Bengaluru.

Needless to say, after a bidding war, he was eventually sold to Punjab Kings for Rs 5.25 crore. The 26-year-old has played 5 first-class matches so far. Overall, he has aggregated 231 runs at an average of 33. Shahrukh Khan is also an occasional right-arm off-spinner but has never bowled in the IPL.

He has played 11 games in the league wherein he scored 153 runs registering his best score of 47. Shahrukh Khan is one of the uncapped Indians to watch out for in the next season. Let’s not forget the fact that he hit a six off the last ball to help Tamil Nadu win the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final versus Karnataka.
