4. Varun Aaron
Once the fastest pace bowler in the Indian domestic circuit, Varun Aaron has been around the Indian Premier League for a while now. The right-handed pacer grabbed the limelight after a strong display in the 2014 season with the RCB by picking up 16 wickets in 10 matches.
Despite failing to stay consistent in the following seasons, Gujarat Titans raised the baton in the auctions for IPL 2022 to secure the services of the pacer. Varun Aaron had a chance to revive his career but the right-handed pacer could only pick up two wickets in two outings. At the same time, he had a worrisome economy rate of 10.40 in those two games.
Subsequently, the youngster Yash Dayal nailed down his spot in the playing XI with consistent performances and Varun Aaron warmed the bench. As things stand, the Jharkhand pacer won’t fit into the Gujarat Titans’ system going forward and the franchise could release him ahead of next season.
