3 players who could take over as Pakistan Test Captain if Shan Masood gets sacked

Pakistan cricket team has been going through a tough phase in the ongoing calendar year. They haven’t quite been able to produce the necessary spark in their approach, which saw them struggling to churn out positive results.

Their recent performances in Test cricket have been disappointing as well. They were slapped with a humiliating Test series defeat at home as Bangladesh inflicted a 2-0 whitewash on them. This clean sweep on home soil has pushed them down to the second-last spot in the World Test Championship points table.

As things stand, the team management hasn’t got a clear picture under Shan Masood’s captaincy. Hence, major changes could be on the cards. Under his leadership, Pakistan failed to win any of the five Tests they have played so far and since there has been no significant progress, the management might as well consider a change in captaincy.

3. Mohammad Rizwan

Mohammad Rizwan is one of the players whom the Pakistan’s team management might contemplate appointing him as the next Test captain. Well, he has been one of the few bright spots for Pakistan in the Bangladesh series. He showcased his consistency with the bat, scoring a valiant 171* in the first Test followed by a solid half-century in the second. The 32-year-old played 32 Tests so far, scoring 1910 runs at an average of 44.4, laced with 3 centuries and 10 fifties.
