After getting dropped from the playing XI earlier in the tournament, Yashasvi Jaiswal has made an explosive comeback with consistent performances with the bat.

In the 63rd match of the IPL 2022, Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants are battling it out for a place in the playoffs. Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Sanju Samson chose to bat first after winning the toss but lost the Orange Cap holder Jos Buttler early in the innings.

However, the young Yashasvi Jaiswal didn’t flinch on the other end and counterattacked the Super Giants with some brilliant shots all around the park. Mohsin Khan dropped Jaiswal early in the innings off Avesh Khan’s bowling. The left-handed batter made the opposition pay for their mistake with a whirlwind knock.

The youngster took the aggressive route to maximise the final over of the powerplay. The Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera came to bowl the 6th over of Rajasthan’s innings and Jaiswal took him to the cleaners.

Yashasvi smashed three boundaries off the first four deliveries of the Chameera’s over. On the fifth delivery, he took it a notch up by smashing a 103-meter six. It was a pacy short delivery from the Sri Lankan but Yashasvi Jaiswal picked the length early as he swivelled and smoked the pull for a 103-meter six.

In his quest to stay in the attacking mode throughout, Jaiswal lost his wicket trying to slog Ayush Badoni for a maximum over the deep midwicket. However, he got a top-edge instead and the bowler caught the ball to end an enterprising knock. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 41 runs off 29 deliveries before walking back to the dugout.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals posted a massive total of 178/6 in 20 overs. If the Royals from Rajasthan manage to defend the target, they will be certain of a place in the playoffs.
