In the battle between the north and the south, the RCB batter Rajat Patidar smashed a 102-meter six off Harpreet Brar’s bowling. However, the ball hit an old spectator in the stands and injured him in the process.

The 60th game of the Indian Premier League 2022 saw Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings battle it out for two vital points in the context of the tournament. With the race to the playoffs heating up, both sides needed the points desperately.

Punjab Kings were invited to bat first by RCB’s skipper Faf du Plessis after winning the coin flip. The Kings came out with all guns blazing and dismantled the RCB’s bowling attack. Liam Livingstone and Jonny Bairstow scored blistering fifties as PBKS posted 209/9 in 20 overs.

Chasing the total, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost their former skipper Virat Kohli early and Rajat Patidar joined Faf du Plessis in the middle. With a huge total to chase, Patidar could not take much time to settle in and had to attack straightaway.

Royal Challengers Bangalore also lost their skipper Faf du Plessis and Mahipal Lomror inside the powerplay as Punjab Kings dominated with the new ball. However, Rajat Patidar alongside Glenn Maxwell kept the Reds in the hunt with a 64 runs partnership off 37 deliveries.

During his knock, Patidar injured a spectator in the stands with a massive six. The left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar was bowling the 9th over of the RCB’s innings. On the 4th delivery, Rajat Patidar skipped out of the crease and smashed him over the long-on for a 102-meter maximum. However, the ball hit the head of an old spectator in the stands to injure him.
