“I don’t want to say anything about it” – Yashasvi Jaiswal reacts to Ben Duckett’s bizarre comment

Yashasvi Jaiswal will be a key player for RR in IPL 2024.

Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has reacted to English cricketer Ben Duckett’s bizarre claim that he made during the recently concluded five-match Test series in India.

Duckett had previously said that England’s Bazball approach influenced Yashasvi. He asked for credit for the aggressive way the Indian opener was batting throughout the series.

“When you see players from the opposition playing like that, it almost feels like we should take some credit that they’re playing differently than how other people play Test cricket,” Duckett said.

Reacting to this comment, Yashasvi said that he doesn’t want to say anything in return. The 22-year-old opener wants to stay focused and keep giving his best on the field.

“I don’t want to say anything about it. I just need to try and do whatever I can do on the ground that says the best I can do,” Jaiswal told to The Indian Express.

Yashasvi was adjudged the player of the series for scoring 912 runs in five matches at an average of 89. He smashed two double centuries and three fifties to establish himself in the red-ball cricket.

What’s next for Yashasvi Jaiswal?

Yashasvi Jaiswal is preparing to open for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2024. He enjoyed a good time with the bat last season, where he cooked 625 runs in just 14 innings, averaging 48.07 at a strike-rate of 163.61. Despite his brilliance, the franchise failed to qualify for the playoffs.

With multiple changes in the squad, the Sanju Samson-led side would be hoping for better results this season. They will be facing Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on March 24, Sunday, in their opening game.

The Rajasthan-based franchise is also expected to name the replacement of pacer Prasidh Krishna, who was ruled out of the entire season due to an injury.
