“Let’s not talk about it” – CSK CEO sheds light on future captaincy post MS Dhoni’s tenure

CSK will begin their IPL 2024 campaign on March 22, Friday.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed that MS Dhoni will be leading the team in the upcoming edition of IPL 2024. Earlier, there were speculations surrounding MS Dhoni’s future in the IPL.

Nevertheless, the Captain Cool rubbished the retirement rumours and expressed his interest and commitment to playing for CSK for yet another season, in what will most probably be his last season.

In a recent interview with former CSK batter Subramanian Badrinath, CSK CEO shed light on the advanced talks surrounding future plans, regarding the next CSK captain. He further added that N Srinivasan stressed not to bring in discussions about the recruitment of captain or vice captain.

“See, there have been internal talks. But, Mr. Srinivasan has made it very clear. Let’s not talk about captain and vice-captain appointments. Let’s leave it to the coach and the captain to decide. Let them decide and convey the information to me, and then I will convey it to you all. He has said the captain and the coach will decide and give us a directive, till then let’s all keep quiet’,” he said.

As things stand, MS Dhoni will be leading the troops from the front for CSK in the next season. The CSK CEO highlighted that the appointment of the new captain or vice captain lies entirely in the hands of the coach and current captain. He reckons that they are in a better position to decide who can be one to lead the franchise.
