WATCH: Virat Kohli’s act of sportsmanship during the 2nd Qualifier wins hearts

Whether he is scoring runs or not, he surely knows how to stay in the limelight. From his animated celebrations on the ground to the smallest of the gestures, everything makes it to the headlines of the tabloids. Virat Kohli once again managed to grab the eyeballs with a wonderful gesture of the sportsmanship in the 2nd Qualifier of the IPL 2022 on Friday night.

The Indian superstar once again failed with the bat as his team Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to reach the final of the IPL 2022 after a loss to Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets.

Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore squared off in the 2nd Qualifier of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League with an aim to reach the final. The bandwagon of the T20 carnival moved to the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahemdabad.

The Bangalore-based franchise had to bat first after the RR’s skipper Sanju Samson invited them to have a go with the bat after winning the toss. RCB looked good in parts but never could get off the blocks. In the end, despite Rajat Patidar’s fifty, Royal Challengers Bangalore posted an under-par total of 157/8 in 20 overs.

Chasing the total, the youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal provided Rajasthan Royals with a flying start. Once the youngster was gone, the Orange Cap holder Jos Buttler took the centre stage and scored an unbeaten century to secure the game for his side.

The former RCB skipper smashed a beautiful wristy six off Trent Boult early in his innings. Many thought that a Virat Kohli’s masterclass is on the cards but he failed to deliver.

However, during his brief stay at the crease, Virat Kohli won hearts by upholding the spirit of the game. On the 2nd delivery of the opening over by Trent Boult, Kohli ran a quick single to open his account. The fielder Jos Buttler threw the ball at the non-striker end but it went for an overthrow after hitting the Run Machine.

However, Virat Kohli refused to take an extra run off the overthrow as the ball hit him.
