Young Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler Umran Malik has been clocking some good speed in training ahead of IPL 2022. Recently, he stunned Nicholas Pooran with some lightning bouncers, the video of which has gone viral.

In one of Hyderabad’s practice games, Pooran was going well hitting the bowlers for fun all over the park. However, Umran Malik came searing in and bowled two deadly bouncers to the West Indian cricketer.

In the clip, Umran’s first delivery left the West Indies wicket-keeper batter with no answers while he tried to pull the second one, it only resulted in him giving an easy catch to the fielder on the leg-side.

Impressed by his display, Sunrisers Hyderabad had retained the young fast bowler ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction for a whopping INR 4 crore. If the pre-tournament practise sessions are anything to go by, Umran is all geared up to repay the trust of management.

Recently, Umran Malik revealed his close chat with former Indian captain Virat Kohli where the latter urged the youngster to focus on his bowling and fitness.

“Virat Kohli spoke to me and told me to work on my bowling and fitness. He told me to work hard and once you do that the India cap is not too far away. He said I will get my chance when the time comes,” Malik told India.com.

SRH will face RR in their opening match of the IPL 2022 on March 29.
