Rashid Khan is one of the best T20I players in the world without second thoughts. The 22-year-old prospect is actively involved in several T20I leagues all across the globe. He is a partnership breaker and is well-known for taking wickets in crucial situations.

On the other hand, he is a handy batsman who has the potential to chip in runs when it matters the most. Time and again, Rashid Khan made the headlines for scoring runs at the rate of knots. Apart from that, he hogged the limelight for his creative shots as well.

Plying his trade for Sussex in the Vitality Blast competition, he made his presence count in the first quarterfinal clash against Yorkshire. The match took place at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street in Durham. Rashid Khan ticked the boxes in all departments. He scored 27 runs, claimed a wicket and took 2 catches and was named the Player of the Match.

Earlier, Yorkshire batted first and managed to aggregate a competitive total of 177/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Gary Ballance scored a quickfire 55 off 37 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes at a sensational strike rate of 148.65.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore scored 55 off 49 balls including 3 fours and 3 sixes. On the contrary, Tymal Mills was the standout performer for Sussex in the bowling unit. The left-arm seamer took three wickets to his name. In reply, Sussex won the game by 5 wickets with 2 balls to spare.

Sussex captain Luke Wright led the attack from the front and scored 54 off 39 balls including 6 boundaries and a six. Meanwhile, Rashid Khan stunned the cricket fraternity by playing extraordinary shots as he struck 3 fours and 2 maximums.

The best part of the game was witnessed during the 18th over when Rashid unleashed a helicopter shot off Jordan Thompson. During the second ball of that over, Rashid Khan shimmied down the track only to hit the ball for a six over the long-on region.

In the end, Rashid Khan remained not out on 27 off just 9 balls whereas Chris Jordan scored 7 off 5 balls. Jordan hit the winning runs in the form of a boundary. As a result, Sussex progress to the semifinal of the T20 Blast 2021.
