Gujarat Titans’ official Twitter account recently gave a cheeky reply to a fan accusing the legspinner Rashid Khan of copying the ‘TKMOC’ character Jethalal.

The Afghan leg-spinner has played a pivotal role in Gujarat Titans’ success this season with some vital contributions with both bat and the ball. He is Titans’ one of the key wicket-getters, while he also has donned the hat of the finisher as well for the newly-formed franchise.

However, it looks like Rashid Khan has been drawing up the inspiration for his bowling action from somewhere else. Recently, one of the fans pointed out that the Rashid Khan should thank Jethalal from ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ as the leggie has borrowed his bowling action from the latter.

While there is no reality behind the story and the fan was just trying to have fun at the expense of Khan, Gujarat Titans’ official Twitter account set the record straight with a cheeky reply.

“Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events, is purely coincidental,” the Gujarat-based franchise tweeted while participating in the banter with the fans.

Earlier, the veteran South Africa leg spinner Imran Tahir tried to dissect Rashid Khan’s bowling action. The former purple cap winner is currently working with ESPNCricinfo as an expert.

“He is a different type of bowler and his pace through the air is a lot. When a leg-spin bowls through the air, he has to make it slow through the air for turn. Rashid is different because he bowls quick through the air,” said Imran Tahir.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans will next face Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 1 on the 24th of May. Rashid Khan will be crucial for his team as the leggie has accounted for 18 wickets in 14 matches. He also has added 91 runs with his willow at a strike rate of over 206.
