The Australian wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade was furious after getting out against RCB and vented his anger in the dugout by smashing his bat around and throwing away his helmet.

On Wednesday evening, Gujarat Titans are squaring off against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium. RCB cannot afford to lose this game as it is a must-win game in their quest to qualify for the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Titans are looking to continue their momentum with another win.

Gujarat Titans’ skipper Hardik Pandya elected to bat first after winning the toss flip. The decision didn’t prove worthwhile as the Titans lost Shubman Gill early in the innings. After Gill’s fall, the Aussie wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade joined Wriddhiman Saha in the middle.

Matthew Wade throws his helmet and smashes hit bat in anger

On the 2nd delivery of the 5th over, Wade tried to play a sweep off Glenn Maxwell’s bowling but missed his shot. His Aussie teammate went out for an LBW appeal and the umpire obliged by raising his finger.

Matthew Wade wasted no time in signalling the DRS as the ball seems to have deflected from the gloves on its way to the pad. However, there was a flat line on the ultra-edge as the ball passed the bat.

On the evidence available, the third umpire upheld the on-field decision and Matthew Wade was clearly livid on his way back to the dugout.
