Watch: Jasprit Bumrah engages in an intense verbal spat with Marco Jansen

The ongoing second Test match between South Africa and India has already witnessed a spectacular brand of cricket from both teams. Proteas are working their socks off in order to stay alive in the competition. On the other hand, Team India are giving it all in a bid to win a Test series in the rainbow for the first time.

Earlier, India defeated Proteas by 113 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series. They are just a victory away from scripting a historic Test series win. Meanwhile, the second Test match has also witnessed verbal duels between the players.

On Day 2, India’s stand-in captain KL Rahul and South Africa captain Dean Elgar were involved in a heated exchange after the latter didn’t take a clean catch. KL Rahul had to say a few words before making his way back to the pavilion. Well, that wasn’t the only thing that happened during the second Test.

Jasprit Bumrah indulges in an altercation with Marco Jansen

While the exchange between KL Rahul and Dean Elgar didn’t cause much fuss or ruckus, the verbal duel between Jasprit Bumrah and Marco Jansen drew the attention of everyone. The incident took place during the 54th over of India’s innings.

It was when Jasprit Bumrah attempted to play pull shots consecutively against pacer Marco Jansen. The pacer nearly lost his cool after Bumrah tried to play the pull shot once. However, when Bumrah tried to play the pull shot again in the next delivery, Jansen exchanged a few words with Bumrah.

Things started to get nasty when Bumrah went up to Jansen and said something back. However, the on-field umpire managed to calm things down a bit. Kagiso Rabada who came to bowl the next over was belted by Jasprit Bumrah for a six.

It was so terrific to see Bumrah venting his frustration out by playing a fabulous shot. The fact that even the Indian dressing room gave a big round of applause made the moment a bit more special.
