WATCH: Captain Cool MS Dhoni hits nets in preparation for IPL 2024

Chennai Super Kings were crowned the champions of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). MS Dhoni and Co braved the challenges in the group stages and playoffs before pulling off a jaw-dropping victory over Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2024 final.

The Yellow Brigade clinched the last-ball thriller, courtesy of Ravindra Jadeja’s finishing abilities, which helped CSK come through with flying colours. CSK went on to lift the fifth IPL title. Meanwhile, the upcoming edition of the IPL is just a couple of months away from going all guns blazing.

If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, IPL 2024 will get underway in the last week of March. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the starting date of the tournament. Meanwhile, CSK captain MS Dhoni made the headlines after he was spotted gearing up for the next season.

Video clip of MS Dhoni hitting the nets grabs the attention of the fans

MS Dhoni was seen donning a sleeveless black t-shirt, and blue helmet along with yellow pads. The video clip begins with the Chennai Super Kings skipper nonchalantly punching the ball down the ground, which drew the attention of the cricket fraternity.

MS Dhoni seems to be doing fine physically now and the video clip confirms the same. Earlier, the 42-year-old had knee constraints which caused him some troubles in the previous season. The CSK captain wore a knee brace during the last season to manage the pain. After the season, the veteran underwent a keyhole knee surgery in a Mumbai hospital in late July.

The experienced campaigner has been recuperating for close to five months now and is expected to regain match fitness before the next IPL. Recently, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan provided the latest update on the CSK captain. “He is doing well now and has started his rehab. He started working in the gym. And, probably in another ten days, he’ll also start working in the nets,” he added.

“We are planning for a camp somewhere by the first week of March. The IPL season is likely to start by the 22nd of March. So, we will have our first camp by the first week in Chennai,” the CSK CEO added in a statement.
