The Australian pitches don’t offer much to spinners but Wanindu Hasaranga is made differently. He continued his domination in the shortest format as he picked up 15 scalps in eight games, averaging 13.26 at a superb economy of 6.41. The highest wicket-taker of the 2021 T20 World Cup, topped the chart once again.

Shaheen Afridi entered the tournament after recovering from a long injury. Hence, he wasn’t match ready and looked a bit rusty in the initial games. But as the event progressed, we got to see his clinical form and exploits with the new ball. The left-handed pacer picked up 11 wickets in seven games, at a beneficial economy of 6.15.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the surfaces of Australia suit speedster Anrich Nortje, who was firing cylinders at the marquee event. He was too hot to handle with his fiery pace and bouncy lengths. He picked up 11 wickets in just five games, at an economy of just 5.37. Unfortunately, his side failed to proceed into the knockout stages.
