T20 World Cup 2022: 5 players who can win Player of the Tournament award
These players have high chances of bagging the prestigious individual award.
4. David Warner (Australia)
The veteran Aussie opener was the catalyst of Australia’s maiden title triumph at the T20 World Cup in the UAE last year. He won the Player of the Tournament after smashing 289 runs in 7 matches averaging over 48 at a strike rate of 146.70. The left-handed southpaw scored a vital half-century in the final as well.
Warner has been in fine form lately. He was rested in the away series against India, but he has smashed three half-centuries in the previous seven innings for Australia. The 35-year-old scored 75 runs in the 2nd T20I against West Indies, followed by 73 runs against England in the first T20I.
His recent form at home brings a bad omen for the bowlers as the veteran opener will be eager to put up another strong performance to help his team successfully defend their title.
