Suresh Raina enrolled himself as a Hindi commentator for the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. The former Chennai Super Kings player has decided to entertain the fans with a whole new avatar this time around. He is now part of the Hindi commentary panel alongside former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings released their highest run-scorer from their squad ahead of the auction. Surprisingly, they didn’t show interest to sign him at the auction. Raina also failed to attract the bidders at the mega auction in Bengaluru. Hence, he went unsold at the auction for the first time in history.

Suresh Raina has played 205 games in the Indian Premier League. The southpaw has scored 5528 runs at an average of 32.5 and a strike rate of 136.7. The veteran has slammed as many as 39 half-centuries and a century to his name. He has also captained Chennai Super Kings during MS Dhoni’s absence.

Suresh Raina keeps Mumbai Indians out of list

Meanwhile, the former CSK player has picked four teams that will make it to the playoffs this time around. The ongoing edition of the IPL is well and truly going to be a competitive affair since as many as 10 teams are taking part in the tournament. It is quite tough to qualify for the playoffs.

According to Raina, Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore will qualify for the playoffs. CSK lost their opening game against KKR at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. KKR beat CSK by 6 wickets with 9 balls remaining.

Delhi Capitals kick-started their campaign to a terrific start as they beat Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets with 10 balls remaining. On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants will start their campaign today as they take on Gujarat Titans in their first game.
