Former India leg-spinner Amit Mishra is currently enjoying his time away from the game. Known for his heroics in the IPL, Mishra is one of the most successful bowlers in the league’s history. However, the senior leggie failed to attract any bid in the mega auctions and went unsold.

‘Mishy’ has been active on Twitter lately and has been hogging the limelight with his interactions and tweets on the social media platform. Amit Mishra was at his hilarious best as he gave a cheeky reply to a CSK fan asking the leg-spinner to join the yellow army.

The Twitter user requested Amit Mishra to join MS Dhoni led-CSK, to which the senior pro replied he is still two years younger for it.

Chennai Super Kings have earned themselves a tag of ‘Daddies Army’ courtesy of their recruitment strategies. The yellow army has a knack for signing senior players over 30 with abundant experience. However, the strategy hasn’t worked for the 4-time champions in the IPL 2022, as the team sits at the 8th position in the points table.

The Super Kings are yet to open their account this season, and the fans are subsequently growing impatient.

Can Amit Mishra return to the IPL?

Mishra undoubtedly is an IPL legend. He is the only bowler to take three hat-tricks in the tournament, and once, he was also the leading wicket-taker. The senior pro could still return to the world’s biggest cricket league if any franchise chose to sign him as a replacement player.

Amit Mishra has scalped 166 wickets in his IPL career and still comfortably sits at the 3rd position in the list of the bowlers with the most wickets in the IPL. The leggie started his career with Delhi Capitals (Delhi Daredevils then) before moving to Deccan Chargers in 2011. Delhi Capitals re-signed Mishra in 2015, and he stayed with the franchise till 2021.
