Established in 2008, Rajasthan Royals is an IPL franchise that is based in Jaipur. They stunned everyone by emerging as the champions of the Indian Premier League in the inaugural season. However, the team could not build on their momentum after the opening season. The Royals from Rajasthan failed to establish themselves as a serious threat in the biggest T20 league on the planet.

Rajasthan Royals hit the rock bottom as they were banned for two years in 2016 and 2017 for the infamous fixing scandal. However, the franchise returned to action in 2018 once again. In 2022, the Jaipur-based franchise almost repeated its success from the opening season after reaching the final.

The Royals-e-Rajasthan began their journey under the able leadership of the legendary leg spinner Shane Warner. After his retirement, the team could not have stable leadership but they now have found a long-term leader in the young wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson.
