After the termination of Hyderabad based side Deccan Chargers from IPL, SUN group bought the new franchise in 2012 and named it Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kalanidhi Maran of SUN group spent Rs 85.05 (the US $ 12 million) per year for a five-year deal to buy SRH. Kaviya Maran, daughter of Kalanidhi Maran is CEO of SRH. She attended many matches of SRH. Kaviya Maran also takes part in the IPL auction of players. Aussie coach Trevor Bayliss works as Head Coach of SRH while former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman is batting coach of SRH.
