Nitish Rana likes negative post about Ishan Kishan; unlikes after netizens create stir

The netizens were quick to taking screenshot of the post.

The Indian team, led by Hardik Pandya, have celebrated a promising start to the post-World Cup era with three T20 series wins under their belt. However, apart from Suryakumar Yadav’s consistency in the batting department, they have not quite lived up to expectations in this format.

Coach Rahul Dravid and the team management have shown faith in their chosen lineup, including Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill as openers, despite their recent lackluster performances. The duo have both hit double centuries in ODI matches but they haven’t been able to carry the same form over into the shortest format just yet.

Kishan has scored 199 runs over the last 15 innings at an average of 15.30 and a strike rate of 106.41. Kishan has scored 63 runs in five matches in 2023 at an average of 12.60, and his last knock was a struggle on the Lucknow pitch – 19 (32).Since Rishabh Pant is expected to be out for some time and Sanju Samson sustained a knee injury against Sri Lanka, Kishan has been given a longer rope.

How long that rope lasts, however, depends on how well Kishan performs against New Zealand in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. In addition, a fan posted a list of Kishan’s scores in the last 15 matches and found that the wicket-keeper batter failed to score a single fifty.

His highest score in this period was 37 in the series opener against Sri Lanka.Although Rana had expressed his disappointment with cryptic tweets when the squads for the South Africa series and Sri Lanka series were announced last year, he hasn’t played for India since 2021.

Ishan’s barren run in international T20s is liked by Nitish Rana

Samson is most likely to return to the T20 side and replace Kishan if management goes to that extent. However, the team might seek a change at the top on Wednesday as well, with Prithvi Shaw on the bench

Nitish Rana has been praised by most supporters, arguing that he is better against spin than Ishan Kishan and provides Team India with a part-time bowling option.

While others have pointed out Rana’s own failures for the Men in Blue in the limited chances he has had, they say he shouldn’t complain because he is no better.
