For the existing players in the Indian cricket team, it is an absolute privilege and honor to play for the country. There is no better feeling than donning the national jersey and giving absolutely everything on the field.
At the same time, it is imperative for the players to take care of their fitness and well-being to deliver the goods in the long run. India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was recently met with an injury and his untimely accident shocked the entire cricket fraternity.
Indian cricketers, experts, fans and cricketers from other countries took to their social media handles and wished Rishabh Pant a speedy recovery. Apparently, Rishabh Pant was traveling all the way from Delhi to his hometown in Uttarakhand, Roorkee.
He was traveling all by himself in a Mercedes car and dozed off for a few seconds before the mishap happened. Rishabh Pant, who drove the car in the wee hours of December 30 (Friday), was traveling home to surprise his mother.
When Shikhar Dhawan advised Rishabh Pant to drive slowly
As it turned out, he accidentally crashed into one of the divider linings, leading to a major accident. It also triggered a sudden fire inside the car, which also set the vehicle ablaze in the first place. Rishabh Pant quickly jumped out of his car and got out of danger.
He sustained injuries to his body but fortunately, there weren’t any burns or fractures. Rishabh Pant was hospitalized after the accident and doctors confirmed that the cricketer is out of danger.
Meanwhile, an old video clip featuring Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant at Delhi Capitals in IPL 2019 has been doing the rounds on the internet. In the clip, senior cricketer Shikhar Dhawan can be heard offering life advice to Rishabh Pant.
Shikhar Dhawan advised Rishabh Pant to drive slowly and safely but it seems Rishabh Pant didn’t pay any attention to his advice. Dhawan told Rishabh Pant, “Gaadi araam se chalaya kar.” (Translation: drive your car carefully).
