In a major setback to Rajasthan Royals, Australian pace-bowling all-rounder Nathan Coulter-Nile has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2022 due to an injury.

Coulter-Nile played the opening game of Rajasthan Royals against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where they registered a comprehensive 61-run win. However, their Aussie star picked up an injury during the game and subsequently was forced to leave the ground without completing his four-overs quota.

Rajasthan Royals bid adieu to Nathan Coulter-Nile

The Royals from Rajasthan have confirmed that the pacer will not take any further part in the remainder of the IPL 2022 season.

While breaking the news on social media, the Royals captioned the post, “Until we meet again, NCN. ???? Speedy recovery. ????”

Coulter-Nile was signed by the Royals for a sum of INR 2 crores in the mega auctions. Meanwhile, no replacement has been announced by the franchise yet.

The unavailability of Nathan Coulter-Nile has left a chink in an otherwise strong armour of Rajasthan Royals. Indian pacer Navdeep Saini has replaced Nathan in the RR’s playing 11, but he hasn’t been very effective with the bowl.

Rajasthan Royals will look to bounce back from the loss against RCB

Rajasthan Royals have made a strong start to the new season as they sit at the top of the points table with two wins in three matches. They began their season with back-to-back wins but lost their third game against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

They will be playing their next game against Lucknow Super Giants and will be eager to regroup as the bowling unit. However, it looks like they are already missing the services of Nathan Coulter-Nile, as the fifth bowling option has been the weak link for them.

The inaugural season champions may look towards Jimmy Neesham to bail them out of the tricky situation.
