IRE vs IND: 3 Indian players who might not get a chance in Ireland series
IRE vs IND: With the T20 World Cup 2022 fast approaching, the BCCI are trying to give performing youngsters a chance post IPL. The selectors handed over Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh their maiden national call-up in the South Africa T20I series. However, both pacers didn’t get a chance to make their debut but they have managed to retain their place in the squad for the Ireland tour.
The selectors also have called another IPL performer Rahul Tripathi for the Ireland tour. During the South Africa series, the team management gave a long rope to the first XI players as the same playing XI featured in all five games. Given the pattern, there are high chances of a few players not getting even a single game during the Ireland tour.
Hence, we will take a look at 3 Indian players who might be warming the bench during the whole Ireland T20I series.
3. Arshdeep Singh
India used the pace troika of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, and Avesh Khan during the South Africa series. While Bhuvneshwar Kumar was phenomenal with the new ball, Harshal Patel nailed down his spot with consistent performances in the death.
Avesh seemed to be a weak link in the first three games but he bounced back by picking up four wickets in the 4th T20I against the Proteas. Given the set pace attack, Arshdeep Singh might not get a chance even against Ireland. Even if the team management decides to rest one of the pacers, Umran Malik is likely to get the nod ahead of Arshdeep Singh.
