Steve Smith is one of the smartest captains in the modern era. However, he hasn’t tasted glory ever since he has been a part of the Indian Premier League. Smith won the World Cup once but has never won an IPL trophy in his career.

Currently, he is plying his trade for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League after the IPL 2020-runners-up roped him for INR 2 crores, which is an absolute steal. Earlier, Smith made his ambition clear that winning the IPL title is the ultimate goal and he hopes he would lift the trophy in the future.

Now that he is not the captain, the addition of two more teams would surely tempt Smith to make a move. If that’s the case, then the cricket fraternity might see him in a new team as captain. Smith captained Rising Pune Supergiant in the IPL 2017 season and led them to the finals only to lose to Mumbai Indians.
