Here’s why Gautam Gambhir was furious with the fourth umpire

In fact, Gambhir rushed towards the 4th umpire near the boundary rope and then had a heated argument with him. At first, the commentators were taken aback by the dispute. However, later the picture became clear as KKR had already wished to remove Sunil Narine from the field for the last 2 overs in order to bring in Rahmanullah Gurbaz as a substitute fielder.

KKR’s think-tank is aware of the fact that Narine completed his full quota of 4 overs. As a result, they wanted to have a stronger fielder in place for the crucial stage of the game as RCB was agonizingly close to reaching their challenging target.

Needless to say, the umpire quickly put away KKR’s request, insisting that Narine returned on the field and that Gurbaz went off, which left Gambhir visibly upset. The video clip of the same went viral on social media.
