Rohit Sharma made the headlines after he took over MI captaincy in the last over of the game against Punjab Kings. The five-time IPL champions were under pressure as they were finding ways to defend the target, with PBKS requiring 12 off the last over.

PBKS had one wicket in hand and it was when the game kept the fans on the edge of their seats. However, the highlight of the game was when the former Mumbai Indians captain was spotted giving substantial inputs to Akash Madhwal in the last over.

Even as the regular captain Hardik Pandya was seen giving inputs to the pacer, the latter ignored him in the first place. He was only listening to Rohit Sharma at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur in Chandigarh.

MI understood the seriousness of Kagiso Rabada’s wicket because he smacked a six off Hardik Pandya in the penultimate over. With that being the case, Rabada had the sudden surge in momentum levels and was raring to pose threats to the bowlers.

Just before the last over, Hardik Pandya was seen talking to Akash Madhwal to make sure the field is set properly. On the contrary, Rohit Sharma entered the picture and pitched in with valuable insights to the pacer.

Meanwhile, Madhwal switched all his attention from Hardik Pandya to Rohit Sharma. The paceman took inputs from the former MI captain before he went about his work and the video clip of the same has garnered widespread attention of the cricket fraternity.
