IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians strongest playing XI for the upcoming season
Mumbai Indians (MI) will begin their IPL 2024 campaign against Gujarat Titans (GT) on March 24, Sunday.
Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Jason Behrendorff, Piyush Chawla, Dilshan Madushanka
Jasprit Bumrah has been a pivotal part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad for several years now. The franchise immensely benefitted from his performances which played a big part in securing wins for the team. His potential to bowl accurately in the death overs under pressure makes him a class apart.
He will be the bowler to watch out for this season whereas Jason Behrendorff who was retained by the franchise will also be looking to deliver the goods. The left-arm fast-medium bowler accounted for 19 dismissals in 17 games in the IPL and could be a valuable pick in the playing XI.
Meanwhile, Piyush Chawla has been the most successful spinner for MI in the IPL 2023 season wherein he took 22 wickets in 16 appearances. He contributed immensely last season and will be an automatic pick this time too.
The five-time IPL champions purchased the Sri Lankan international Dilshan Madushanka for INR 4.6 crore at the IPL 2024 auction. The 23-year-old who hasn’t played in the IPL will be keen to make the most of his time at the MI franchise.
