IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians strongest playing XI for the upcoming season
Mumbai Indians (MI) will begin their IPL 2024 campaign against Gujarat Titans (GT) on March 24, Sunday.
All-rounders: Hardik Pandya, Mohammad Nabi
New skipper Hardik Pandya might be playing the role of a finisher for Mumbai Indians in this season. He certainly knows the tricks and trades of chasing down totals, especially in close situations. His gameplay combined with caution and aggression might do the trick. Having perfected the art of calmness and composure under pressure in recent seasons, he could be the main man to help the franhise in the run-chase.
The five-time IPL champions acquired all-rounder Mohammad Nabi for INR 1.5 crore at the auction. The Afghanistan international doesn’t boast an impressive batting record as far as the IPL is concerned. Having played 17 games, he scored 180 runs but will be looking to bring the best out of himself. He has taken 13 wickets to his name in the league.
Indian spinner Shreyas Gopal also remains an option down the order. However, he didn’t featured in the league last season and played only one game in the 2022 campaign. The management might hesitate to include him into the scheme of things unless an injury occurs.
