3. All-rounders: Glenn Maxwell, Hardik Pandya and Cameron Green

Cameron Green had an underwhelming season for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. When he donned the RCB jersey, a lot was expected of him to fire all cylinders. Nevertheless, that wasn’t meant to be the case as he neither pitched in with impactful knocks nor had the tenacity to chip in with decisive bowling spells. He scored 255 runs and didn’t score even a single fifty. On the contrary, he took 10 wickets in 13 matches. His performances weren’t enough to justify his price tag of INR 17.5 crore.

Hardik Pandya also had a terrible campaign as a batsman, bowler and captain. Under his captaincy, MI failed to qualify for the playoffs and finished at the bottom of the points table. Hardik Pandya came under fire for his disastrous all-round performance. He scored 216 runs and took 11 wickets but at an expensive economy rate of 10.75.

Glenn Maxwell had a forgettable campaign for RCB in IPL 2024. He failed to live up to his reputation with the bat. Besides that, he hasn’t quite been able to produce good bowling spells. Overall, he managed to take only six wickets. Overall, he scored just 52runs at a dismal batting average of 5.28.

4. Bowlers: Anrich Nortje, Shardul Thakur and Mohit Sharma

Despite having the tools and ingredients in his bowling armoury, Anrich Nortje failed to make a telling impact as a fast bowler for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024. Having made just six appearances, he managed to take seven wickets at an expensive economy rate of 13.36.

CSK roped in Shardul Thakur in the hope that he would take crucial wickets and score vital runs down the batting order. Nevertheless, the project failed miserably as Shardul failed to tick boxes in the aspect of batting and bowling. He took only five wickets at an economy of 9.76.

Mohit Sharma won the Purple Cap in the IPL 2023 season as he finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker. However, he failed to carry his rich vein of form in IPL 2024 season. He accounted for 10 dismissals in 14 appearances for Gujarat Titans.
