IPL 2024: CSK’s strongest playing XI for the upcoming season
CSK will field their strong playing XI in IPL 2024 season to aim for the sixth title.
Bowlers: Deepak Chahar, Maheesh Theekshana, Matheesha Pathirana
CSK’s key pacer Deepak Chahar was ruled out of IPL 2022 due to a back injury that prevented him from participating in the initial part of the tournament. He made a return to the competition in the subsequent season, taking 13 wickets in 10 games.
The premier pacer is expected to provide crucial breakthroughs with the new ball inside the powerplay overs. CSK signed Sri Lanka’s mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana for INR 70 lakhs in IPL 2022 and it turned out to be a pretty decent signing.
He took 12 wickets in his first season before following it up with 11 wickets in 2023. Meanwhile, Matheesha Pathirana has been a gem of a bowling weapon for CSK. He took 19 wickets in IPL 2023 and established himself as the best death-overs bowler for the team.
