IPL 2024: 5 Indians who might be playing their last season
MS Dhoni is more likely to call it quits from IPL after the 2024 season.
Indian Premier League (IPL) has completed 16 seasons since its inception. Overall, it has given the fans a huge dose of entertainment, courtesy of top-quality action from cricketers who tick the boxes in batting, bowling, and fielding respectively.
Every team has a balanced mix of experienced and young players which is important for fostering a dynamic and competitive environment that can contribute to success on the field. However, once the players go past their prime, it is quite obvious that their performances also start to deteriorate, forcing the franchises to offload the players.
Several veteran cricketers will be representing their respective teams in IPL 2024. Let’s now take a glimpse at the five Indians who might be playing their last season.
5. Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik’s possibility of donning the Indian jersey in the future is all but over. The selectors are contemplating giving youngsters more opportunities, which makes no room for senior pros unless you are Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma.
The 38-year-old cricketer will be seen in action in IPL 2024 for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He ensured a shoddy IPL with the bat last season, scoring only 140 runs but still, the franchise decided to retain him and if he doesn’t do well, RCB might offload him.
