Shubman Gill’s record-breaking century against Mumbai Indians

Shubman Gill’s terrific run in the 2023 Indian Premier League has broken several records. He has notched up 851 runs in sixteen matches this season at an average of 65.46, and a strike rate of 156.72. The opener now ranks third on the list of most runs in an Indian Premier League season. Virat Kohli and Jos Buttler are ahead of him in the tally. Kohli slammed 973 runs in 2016, while Buttler smashed 863 runs last year.

Shubman Gill also jumped to second in the list of most centuries in a season. He has three centuries so far, while Virat Kohl slammed four during his illustrious run in 2016. The Gujarat Titans opener is now the leading run-scorer in the 2023 season and owns the Orange Cap. He is ahead of Faf du Plessis, who has 730 runs this season.
